The rest of the school, including staff and parent volunteers, will also be roped in to sell the tissue-packets to their relatives and friends. Sponsored by the staff and parents of RGS, each tissue packet contains a two-year calendar, information on the tsunami disaster, and how each person can contribute. The tissue packet holders are specifically designed to be reusable, to serve as a reminder of the long lasting impact of the Tsunami.• The total amount raised by the T-issue Project is slated to go directly towards ground-zero in Sri Lanka through our collaboration with two organisations: Crisis Relief Society (Singapore), which will manage the psychological aspect of survivors of the tsunami disaster, and the Singapore International Foundation's Youth Expedition Project, which will focus on rebuilding and reconstruction efforts in areas devastated by the tsunami. • Said Mrs Deborah Tan, Principal of RGS, " We are gratified that our students have initiated this project. By their actions, they show that they have deep empathy for people who are less fortunate than them and are moved to do what they can to help these people". WAIT. HOLD ON A MINUTE. Didnt i see many girls slacking about? anyway. mason was damn funny. the girl asked him to buy, he said "NO!" Then he walk away. damn funny. anyway, i spent 2 and a half hours on something i suck at.in the end it didnt look too bad. looks like a rice dumpling. Dinner was nutrisoy while some people had jacks place. never invite me along. Thursday, March 24, 2005 Fine, i succumb to all of the peer pressure and i'll finally make my blog active again. Anyway, its been a good week so far because i had a good talk to with zhaoyao on the phone and been going out a bit more often now. take a look, i've been to town more times this week compared to the whole of last term. And i met my seniors today. Bittersweet. memorable in an ironic way. They were all crazy and fun-loving and i guess they really have imparted abit of them into me. All the funny shit we do, jokes we shared. But eversince they graduated,we've been slowly parting out own ways. Today, was the first time i'd friends smoke in front of me. And these people used to be the people who i thought would never smoke, steal, drink till they puke, cry.story: they stayed over someone's house. All started drinking(which is normal). They were out in the lawn joking and laughing. They all went in later, little did they realise that one of them was still outside. He drank 3/4 a bottle of volka and cigarettes to go together with it. When they noticed that he was missing. They found him, on his knees. bottle in one hand, cigarette in one hand. he was weeping. Reason: He(someone else) told me that he was really depressed, all he wanted to do was to soak in misery and that the harm and addiction of smoking didnt bother him. So he just smoked. and it has now become a habit. Sad. depression came about from a girl. rafflesian. another long story that i'd rather not tell. Anyway i came back smelling of smoke, fed into my clothes. even the cab driver had to wind down the windows to get rid of the smell. so i guess its time for me to go. bye! Tuesday, March 08, 2005 Birthday boy. It was a tiring birthday but it was fun though. Anyway the recent chinese test, i scored for a test finally. 40.5/50. BEAT THAT. i studied damn hard for it. But the problem is that it was only 4 chapters whereas the o'levels chinese paper consist of 2 years work. MONSTER. How. 87 days to chinese O's. Got to start studying now. Oh, my braces are really troubling me now because of the rubber bands in my mouth and im damn lazy to talk. Feels so uncomfortable. Syen hasnt come to school for 2 days i hope he's okay but i have a funny feeling that he is at home playing dota. I really dont have much to say. Time for me to sleep and wake up to watch the early morning match between barcelona vs chelsea. BYE!Whether you think you are right or you are wrong, you're right
Monday, March 07, 2005 Jay ChouTired Sleep Studies Friends Wednesday, March 02, 2005 My mom brought her primary two kids to the Bird Park. They were on a bus on their way to the Park.Student X: Why the animals dont jump out of the forest and eat us up? Student Y: Because if the animals jump out they would be run over by the cars. Student Z: Because there is a fence so the animals cannot climb over. Oh man, this reminds me of primary school when i'd asked questions like this. Kids just can be so cute and innocent. Anyway we had PE today at East Coast Park and it was horrible. The field was muddy and i kept slipping all over. Wasn't fun and it really disappointed me. After that i made my way to parkway to accompany Christian to print his camera pictures. It took so long because before us there was a mat/mina couple who couldn't figure out how to work the computer. We had lunch later at the food court and waited for my mom to pick me up. Guess the highlight of the outing was the image that Christian inserted into my mind about his homeland. Mr Khoo spoke about it before, the audacity of the bribary going inside of indonesia. Like how you can buy exam papers for $20, how you can change your results by just giving money under the table. How a family tries to survive on a measly $60 a month. How a house/hut was used to house a family of 6 with the living quarters smaller than Christian's toilet. He also told me that people over they think about whether they can afford tomorrow's lunch whereas we Singaporeans think about whether we can afford the latest iPod. How money is stolen from the beggers on the streets. Doesnt sound like good place at all does it. Where crime intoxicates the streets and corrupted people grow rich when the poor grows poorer.Christian says he is lucky to be able to afford to come to Singapore whereas i thank God that im born in Singapore. This sunny island where we complain of the humidity, of the scorching heat, of the lousy teachers, of the lousy studying hours, of the long school hours, of the awfully long bus rides, of not getting a seat on the mrt, of the spoilt air-con, of the cold food served on our table and of our unwashed dirty clothing in the laundry basket. Okay time for me to go back to study for my chinese test to attempt to pass it FINALLY. |
